TraveliQ is a product of Arcadis (formerly IBI Group) that provides personalized maps to clients and constantly updates current road and travel conditions.
Project Description
The TraveliQ app, based in the Calgary office, was in its early stages when I was tasked with designing a logo for the company. The team had specific criteria in mind, including the desire for a simple logo that would be consistent with other apps developed by Arcadis (formerly IBI Group), while also setting TraveliQ apart from competitors in the market.
To begin the design process, I dedicated the first days to sketching out various concepts. This allowed me to explore different visual ideas and refine them into stronger designs. Once I had a selection of promising concepts, I proceeded to convert them into vector format, ensuring scalability and flexibility for digital applications.
From the vectorized concepts, I selected the top six ideas to present to the TraveliQ Marketing lead. After careful consideration, she chose the four concepts that best aligned with the company's vision and brand identity.
To further inform the design direction, I conducted market research and analyzed competitor logos. This research revealed a trend in the use of cool colors among competitors. With this knowledge in mind, I decided to deviate from the crowd and opted for warmer shades that would help the brand stand out and create a sense of energy and excitement.
